Last month I had the honor of being a guest speaker at the Vietnamese program in the Department of East Asia Studies, Brown University.

Brown has run their Vietnamese classes since 2021. They currently have two class levels, Viet 100 for elementary and Viet 300 for Intermediate level. The students asked me a lot of interesting questions, and I learned a lot myself through preparing for the talk.

I was flattered to know they use our textbook "Southern Vietnamese for Beginners 2" as supplementary materials and discussed a lot of my videos, such as "Accent Discrimination in Vietnam" and "Why overseas Vietnamese are still speaking 20th-century Vietnamese".
