Why is a podcast-based tutoring lesson?

Now we have a library of 140 podcast lessons for each level, and this number is still increasing. Some exciting changes are being made, including an upgrade to our website and – coming in May – the addition of practice exercises to supplement each lesson. These exercises will help you consolidate the new language that you have learned from the podcast.
We started the podcast to provide a learning resource where you can expand your vocabulary and practice listening, all through the medium of fun dialogues. But one thing the podcast can't do is provide you with speaking practice. This is why we are now offering a new service: podcast-based tutoring lessons.

How long is a podcast-based tutoring lesson?

Each lesson is 30 minute long, but if you wish to do 1 hour at a time, that's ok too.

What is the content of a podcast-based tutoring lesson?

In a 30 minute session, we will focus on a podcast dialogue of your choosing. Our teacher will go over the dialogue and help you with any pronunciation issues, and then have a conversation with you based around the topic of the dialogue. This will provide you with some conversational practice as well as a chance to put some of the key language to use.

What is the difference between a podcast-based tutoring lesson and a normal lesson?

As it's called, podcast-based lessons focus on a podcast dialogue of your choosing. Our teacher will go over the dialogue and help you with any pronunciation issues, and then have a conversation with you based around the topic of the dialogue. This will provide you with some conversational practice as well as a chance to put some of the key language to use.

To sign up for the podcast-based tutoring lessons, you have to be a podcast subscriber.

As for normal lessons, you don't just practice the language of the podcast. Beginner students follow our course syllabus and sometimes listen to a podcast which supports the syllabus. More advanced students study with textbooks, youtube videos, stories, etc. So podcast is not the main resources of learning but just a supplementary material for your course.

How much is a podcast-based tutoring lesson?

It's only $6 (120,000VND) for a single 30-minute lesson. You can also purchase a 10-lesson package or a 20-lesson package for a small discount ($57 and $104).

How can I pay for my lessons?

We accept payment via Paypal, Western Union, credit card, bank transfer and cash (at our office 72/7 Tran Quoc Toan, Ward 8, District 3).

Can podcast-based tutoring lessons be time flexible?

We now have 8 teachers in our team, so lesson times are quite flexible.

How can I schedule my lessons?

Simply email us: 1. Your time zone and your availability; and 2. Your level of Vietnamese and which level of podcast you listen to. We'll get back to you within 12 hours.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us: info@learnvietnamesewithannie.com

I want to learn Vietnamese but I don't have a lot of time. Is one lesson a week enough?

About 20 – 25% of the students at my school are taking one class per week (1 – 2 hours/class). Ideally, we need to put more effort into studying than just having class once a week. But if your schedule doesn’t allow you to do more, yes we can still make it work. Please read more here:

Why is there a time limit to complete a course? Can I study with no time limit?

We believe that to make a good progress in language learning, you have to attend class / to study regularly. We do find a significant drop in learning quality with students who don't come to class regularly or take two many breaks during their courses. If you need even more time than the extension we offer, we cannot guarantee your learning quality.

Many of our students keep having classes when they're away for business or travel or in case of bad weather, bad traffic, etc. by doing their classes online. Having classes online may be not your favourite, but it is 100% better than skipping classes.
